Bayern Munich Boss Ends Pursuit of Marvin Woltemade

Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany has officially ruled out a move for Werder Bremen forward Marvin Woltemade, despite earlier reports linking the young German striker to the Bundesliga giants.

Speaking to Sport Bild, Kompany made it clear that Woltemade is no longer a target for the Bavarians, stating, "He is not an issue for us. We are well positioned." This comes amid Bayern's current focus on strengthening their attack, especially with uncertainty around the future of other forwards.

Woltemade, 22, had an impressive 2023/24 season on loan at SV Elversberg in the 2. Bundesliga, scoring six goals and providing six assists. His performances had attracted attention from top clubs, but Werder Bremen extended his contract until 2026, reaffirming their commitment to the youngster.

Bayern, meanwhile, have already secured a few key signings this summer and appear to be shifting their attention to more experienced attackers. The statement from Kompany seems to close the door on any last-minute move for Woltemade during this transfer window.
