Ghana’s Constructed New Airport Terminal For $250M Nigeria’s Allocates $470M For Renovation

Ghana recently invested *$250 million* to build a brand-new terminal at Kotoka International Airport, significantly boosting its aviation infrastructure. The new terminal, completed within a few years, has improved passenger experience and positioned Ghana as a regional aviation hub.

On the other hand, Nigeria is spending approximately *$470 million* to renovate an existing airport rather than building new facilities. While upgrades are important, the scale and cost of renovation compared to Ghana’s new construction raise questions about infrastructure strategy and fiscal priorities.

Additionally, in less than two years, Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has reportedly borrowed around 30 trillion Naira (roughly *20 billion USD*), a substantial increase in public debt that impacts the country’s economic outlook.

*What does this mean for Nigerians?* It highlights the critical need for effective governance and prudent use of public funds to drive sustainable development.

*Moral of the story:* Pray for good leaders.
