Kunle Soname is best known as the founder and chairman of Bet9ja, Nigeria’s leading betting platform launched in 2013. But his business ventures go far beyond tech and gaming. In 2018, he also established ValueJet, one of Nigeria’s most efficient airlines, which officially began commercial operations on October 10, 2022, with routes to Abuja, Port Harcourt, Asaba, and Jos.
Soname’s vision isn’t limited to Nigeria. In 2015, he made history by becoming the first Nigerian to own a European football club after acquiring C.D. Feirense in Portugal.
A Passion for Football
A passionate sportsman, Soname founded Remo Stars Football Club (formerly FC Dender) in 2004. Originally based in Lagos, the club relocated to the Remo area of Ogun State and now plays in the Nigerian Premier League’s top division.
